Congratulations to HHS Facet Chairs Link Kimberley Goode, Link Regina Shields, and the HHS Facet Committee for hosting a great program on Thursday, December 10th, at Elizabeth House (EH). I also want to acknowledge the determination and resilience of the committee. Two hours before the program was to begin the committee was notified the scheduled speaker was not available to facilitate the workshop on healthy eating because of a family tragedy. Within that short amount of time, the committee developed a program on mental health during the holidays including slides and an activity for the EH residents.
A delicious meal was delivered and each resident was given a gift bag. The gift bags contained: a Safeway and Target gift card, a journal, pen, and face mask. Link Kimberley opened the program then Link Val Barnett & Link Regina presented information on “Mental Health This Season” which included tips of how to navigate this unusual holiday season.
Link Val B facilitated a conversation with the residents and OBAL members about what we achieved in 2020 and what we were grateful for. Thank you to HHS Facet Committee Members that participated in the program: Link Radonna, Link Kimberley G., Link Regina, Val B., Alice, Karen, and Denise E.M.
The program ended with the residents of EH sharing that they were grateful for OBAL! What a wonderful feeling to know that we are having an impact on the lives of these women. OBAL “Leveling Up”.
