MyClymonds High School, November 15, 2019
Yesterday, the Health & Human Services (HHS) Facet hosted a program in partnership with Kaiser Permanente for the FLY Girls at McClymonds High School, “Healthcare Careers: A Bright future”. I want to congratulate our 2nd Vice President of Programs Radonna Scott and our HHS Facet Chairs, Kimberley Goode & Regina Shields for executing a well-planned and designed program.
The program focused on exploring opportunities for various careers in the Healthcare Industry. OBAL Members discussed the importance of good interview skills and developing impactful personal statements for job & college interviews. A representative from Kaiser, Ms. Ramirez, presented information about how to apply for summer internships at Kaiser Permanente. Ms. Ramirez extended an invitation for the FLY Girls to apply for their summer internship program at Kaiser. Ms. Ramirez is the hiring manager and committed if the eligible FLY Girls applied she would place them in a job this summer. This program was great step in our Chapter Program Theme: #OBALBeyondBarriers – Making a Local and Global Impact.
Thank you to all the OBAL Members that were able to attend and support the program: Links Radonna, Kimberley, Regina, Winnie, Alice, Marsha, Theresa C, Stephanie, Denise Harrison Estes, Terry Mosley, Juliette, Denise Eaton May, Denise Smith and Karen.
