How You Can Get Involved
Greetings from Cherisse Shephard, President
Welcome to the Oakland Bay Area (CA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated. For seventy-five years, our chapter has stood as a beacon of service, friendship, and impact. Since our founding in 1950, we have been dedicated to advancing educational, cultural, health, and civic engagement initiatives that uplift our communities and strengthen lives across the Bay Area. Our legacy is not only measured in years but in the partnerships we have built and the countless lives we have touched.
As I serve in the role of President during this milestone year, I do so with deep gratitude for those who laid the foundation and with pride in the extraordinary legacy we continue. My vision—75 Years and Counting: Reclaiming Our Sisterhood and Renewing Our Purpose—calls us to honor our past while boldly embracing the future. It is both a celebration of our bonds and a commitment to deepen our service with unity, purpose, and impact.
To our sister Links, community partners, and supporters—you inspire us to dream bigger, reach farther, and lead with grace and resolve. I invite you to explore our site, connect with our mission, and join us in continuing the powerful work of building a more just and joyful world. Together, we will ensure that the next 75 years shine even brighter than the last.
